The Fat Lady Has Sung

IT’S OVER! She has sung.  She hit her high note and brought the house down.  Well, she didn’t bring the house down, that would be a bad thing.  She closed on the house.  We are once again proud home owners, which I am happy to say, is a wonderful thing!

More updates

I went to the audition for the indie horror film and I got a call back. Which is a good thing.

I went to the call back last night and I can’t say if I was good or bad but I can say it went.  I felt better about the first audition but at this audition I was fighting a head cold, so I was a bit fuzzy.  I should know in about a week if I got a part.

The woman I auditioned for was very friendly and nice but she was that way with everyone. So with my fuzziness and here friendless I can’t guess my chances.

All I know is with the call back it must mean I have as good of a chance as everyone else.

Oh there’s nothing like buying a home for the holidays

November 27th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

The fat lady may be warming up those pipes today. At least she damn well better be.

We are supposed to close on our house this Friday.  Which is a nice sized Christmas gift to be sure! But we still haven’t gotten the final figures for closing.

Since our account is still in New Mexico we need to set up an EFT for it to be done. Well, EFT’s don’t just happen over night (even though they should in my opinion) and need to be done a few days in advance. However, there may be some hope.

Today we got the “guesstimate” on what it is going to cost for closing.  So I took this ball park figure and called my bank to schedule it all.  If the amount is too little by the time of closing they will let us write a personal check (how kind of them) and if it is too much they will owe us money. Do I think they will write a personal check there on the spot? No. But I do know that I will be sure to get that money back regardless.

All I can do now is hope that it all goes through and this is done and dusted so we can start the new year out in our new home.

I’m not much of a girl

November 20th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Yes I have all the proper bits that make me one and I’m curved in all the right places but when it comes down to it, I’m not much of a girl.

Okay, I love make-up, probably my one expensive vice (that is due to my sensitive skin) But can I do the sm0key eyes like they have on the movies and soaps? No. I’ve never even worn false eye lashes once. And my blending techniques are below average at best.

I’m not big on shoes at all. As a matter of fact I think I only have about six pair. Two of which I bought on my husbands suggestion (and force). I do have a lot of purses but I do schlep a lot of stuff around. Mainly journals, scripts, address book etc. Not makeup, manicure kits and scarves (oh my!).

I don’t really like clothes shopping. It drives me batty. If I need a shirt, I go in and get a shirt. If I need socks, I go in and get socks. Spending hour upon hour shopping kind of does my head in. Of course, if I shed 50 pounds that might change

And the big thing is the hair. For the life of me I can’t really do hair. I never experimented with it when I was younger. I can’t even braid it. You should have seen me this morning with rollers in. My feeble attempt to put curls in my hair turned into a nightmarish site of mismatched rolls and frizz. I haven’t a clue on how to do it.

*sigh*

Surreal

November 16th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Somethings don’t change, no matter where you go.

Went into the Home Depot and it was like being sucked into another dimension (of sorts). It smelled the same, looked the same, sounded the same. If it hadn’t have been for the snow shovels I would have thought I was back in Hobbs.

It’s one of those weird things about certain places. No matter where you are they are the same. For some reason it’s not places like McDonald’s but places like Home Depot. Why is that?

I have fresh nuts

November 15th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Take your mind out of the gutter right now. That’s not what I mean.

We did a massive shop today (in preparation for T-day and the basic survival stuff) and they had a variety of nuts there. I got a bunch of walnuts and hazelnuts (me likey hazelnuts). They are so nice and fresh. I am so glad I never got rid of our nutcracker. It’s probably been nearly a decade since they have been used but boy howdy did it come in handy today.

mmmmmmmm…nuuuuuts
