Always

Ladies, I am sure you will agree with me on this one; the Always commercials on TV that advertise “Have a happy period”.  What on earth are they talking about? How can a company that makes items that collect the blood of women think that this is a good ad campaign?

I mean, once a month (for at least three days) I bloat, feel sluggish, my appetite ranges from starving to wanting nothing, my clothes don’t always fit right, my joints ache, and to top it all off I have cramps that some people dare to say are psychosomatic.   And they want me to be happy?

Honestly, if a company that produces feminine hygiene products wants to make a statement about the period it should be something more along the lines of “Have a quick period” or “Hope this period doesn’t cause you discomfort” even, “I know you’re seeing red but soon you’ll be in the clear.”  Anything would be better than telling me to be happy when I am so clearly not.

This campaign had to have been thought up by a man or a group of men because there is no way on God’s green Earth that a woman would think this was a sensible way to advertise our pads.
