This is something I wrote sometime in 2004 and if I had a blog back then I would have posted it. So I thought I would do it now:

At this very moment I am sitting at a PLC workshop and very bored. I’m listening to a woman sell her philosophy as “the best way to run a school”. What a load of bullocks!

Schools were run effectively before their philosophy was invented and they will continue once their philosophy is gone.

Whenever I hear one of these spiels I can only wonder how long the “basic truths” of their best selling books are going to be around, until the next spin artist come along with more “basic truths” that blow their “basic truths” out of the water.

It always makes me think I should create a philosophy and sell it together with a video and book to make millions.

So true! I kind of feel the same way about “Life Coaches” — I’m sure there’s the odd good one out there, but really, what gives someone the right to tell me how I need to live my life just because they call themselves an “expert”. Exactly what does one have to do to become a “Life Coach”. Somehow, most of us have grown into contributing members of society without one

Oh, but you know….PLC is the answer to world peace…lol.

 Laura, that’s so true. It will fix the world and all education.

I also agree with what you’re saying Char. How do you become and “expert” in life and all that jazz?

If I get the right marketing team I swear I could make one of these and speak around the nation.
