Here’s to 8 years and almost 9

July 29th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

Today is the anniversary of my second wedding to the same man.  The husband unit and I were married today, in the United States, eight years ago. In October we will celebrate our 9 years anniversary of our first wedding in the UK. So to my brilliant husband unit, here’s to eight wonderful years and can’t wait until we get to nine!

Rocking in Pittsburgh

July 29th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

Last night my mom and I went to see “The Police” in concert. We had fab seats where I could feel Stings breath on my face.  It was a completely stupendous evening.  I will post some of the pictures later and will be uploading video to you tube as well.  However, I can’t really hear the clicking of what I am typing  at the moment due to the ringing in my ears.

Request

July 23rd, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I collect the State quarters. I have done very well. However, I am missing one for 2007. For some reason I don’t have Wyoming. I could have sworn I had that buckaroo, but alas, I do not. If anyone happens to have an extra laying around could you send it my way? I will happily exchange it for another twenty-five cents in any fashion you wish. Be it two dimes and a nickel, five nickels, or twenty five pennies. Thank you for your consideration. In Heather We Trust.

Postcards

July 22nd, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I love postcards. They are wonderful. It’s a simple way to communicate and let people know that you are thinking about them. Even if it’s just for the nanosecond it takes to get it ready. I have gotten quite a few postcards from one friend far away and they are appreciated. They are posted on my wall right by my desktop computer so every time I look up I get a smile and think of her. So a big thank you to her as well in this blog post, as she shows that even taking a moment is something we can still do in today’s “busy” world.

my hair grows like a weed

July 21st, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

You can see from the before and after pictures below that I recently got most of my hair cut off. Yet, like the weeds in my yard that spring up over night and I have to pull each day, my hair is already looking totally different and a lot longer. While I won’t be pulling my hair out (yet) luckily I have an appointment in the first week in August. It already needs to be whacked again.

Pot addict

July 19th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I have to come clean, I have a dirty addiction. Literally. If it flowers, if it has leaves, if I can put it in the dirt and make it grown, I’m all over it. I love the feel of the dirt, I love the smell of the soil, I love to water, prune, weed, sit outside with them and enjoy. I just need another hit. Another pot, that’s all. Is that too much to ask?

Two hour spin

July 14th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

On Saturday I took part in a two hour spin class. For anyone who doesn’t know, spinning is basically a stationary bike class.  You sit, you stand, you adjust the tension so it feels like you’re pedaling like a demon or crying up a hill side.  After two hours I was basically just a sweat monster. But it felt great. I am a bit sore today but I would honestly do that two hours everyday if I could. Don’t call the men in the white coats!

Grooming Tricksy

July 13th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I couldn’t take the picture because the evidence was thrown away.  Our biggest dog, Tricksy, really needed a grooming.  It’s was obvious from the mountain of hair we got  off of her that not only does she need it more often but that her undercoat grew about three extra sizes for her first Pennsylvania winter.  We had  a pile of fur that was actually bigger than she was. She looks leaner, shiner and I am sure she feels better.  Now we just have to keep it up for her because she appears to have become the shedding monster.

You’ve never seen it all

July 09th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I’ve seen kids play lots of things over the years. School, store, house, Cowboys and Indians, Cops and Robbers, Doctors and Nurses. But never, until today, I have seen them play (get this) Restaurant owner and Health Inspector. Enough said.
