Trying to make-up

September 21st, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I do have another addiction besides my “pot” addiction. It’s make-up. I love make-up and due to sensitive skin I have to be careful with the stuff I get. I guess my genes are snobby.  Discovered a new company as well. I am usually a Lancome gal. And overall I will stay with them, but I have come to see the benefit of “Benefit”.  I recommend it. Lots of fun colors and great products.

I love vintage postcards and stumbled across this one that made me chuckle. The description is brilliant.

This year I helped out at the WOWs stall. Had a great time. The pub at the end is where you can find me most Friday nights.

Moment of worry

September 17th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I’ve been clocking a lot of hours at the gym lately.  Most of it cardio.  Sometime this morning (not sure when) I awoke with a sharp pain in my stomach. It felt like it was being squished hard from all sides. I thought I might have been having a muscle spasm. Which wouldn’t have surprised me. Nah, it as just gas. Ah, relief.

What happened to the weather?

September 09th, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

I moved here with the notion that it rained. A lot. The way the locals talked you would have thought that this was the Seattle of the east. But for the last three weeks we have had nothing but heat and NO RAIN! Not a drop. While places in New Mexico, that are the desert are getting loads. What is going on? I am really hacked off by this.

Salt and slug

September 02nd, 2008 | Category: Uncategorized

We seem to have slug issues in our garden. I am not used to this because the slugs we had in New Mexico were specks compared to the leviathans I have found among my begonias.  I learned that there is no myth to the application of salt to a slug causing its untimely, if not slightly disturbing demise. Next time, instead of sprinkling the buggers with Morton’s, I will be laying a trap of cheap beer instead. Might as well let them die happy, well, as happy as a slug can be anyway.
