Another teachers strike
It was just on the news that another group of teachers is on strike in the Western PA area. This is something I am just not used to. The idea that teachers not only have rights but they can also strike and shut down the schools. That’s right, shut down schools. Substitute teachers are not called in so the students cannot go to school. While I do have a problem with the kids not being in school, I honestly feel that it’s good to see teachers actually having a voice in a society where they are treated no better than a glorified baby sitter.

Things that REALLY shouldn’t be
I love living in the city. One of the reasons I love it is because you never know what you’re going to see. But sometimes you don’t want to see. While stopped at a light in the south of Pittsburgh we looked out our window to see an old lady sitting on a stoop waiting for her bus. Perfectly innocent? Oh, no. She was cleaning her ear with her finger. That’s not so bad you say, but wait, there’s more. She was cleaning her ear with her finger and taking the discarded ear wax and rubbing it on to her black sweat pant leg. Leaving a lovely, clumpy textured stain. Ack!

Deck the halls
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Fall, which also means Halloween, pumpkins, scarecrows, corn stalks, the lot. My house is bedecked. Pictures are coming.

Only I could make a 15 minute journey turn into an hour and half. Well, myself and PennDot.

I understand
After a week and half of spinning class I truly understand the meaning of “saddle sore”.
